There is fantastic shopping, not just for handicrafts, but for unusual art, modern fashion, and many other things.

Of course, there is also the famous Djema el Fnaa, the "Square of the Dead" -- so named because of the not-so ancient practice of putting beheaded enemies heads on stakes for all to see. Nowadays the only thing on stakes in the square are the many delicious skewers of meat and shish kebab cooking every night after dark.
