There have been some excellent books written about Morocco and on Marrakech. Paul Bowles wrote many novels set in Morocco, and William Burroughs used the backdrop of the country for some of his more exotic musings.

Equally there has been quite a lot of historical writing on Morocco, most entertaining of which is Gavin Maxwell's, Lords of the Atlas, about the El Glaoui family, briefly "in power" during the French protectorate.

There are also several beautiful design books on Morocco, including Moroccan Interiors, where you will also find a great deal of the work of our architect, Charles Boccara.
